Akbar

Akbar expanded the Mughal Empire to cover most of the Indian subcontinent, introduced administrative and economic reforms that stabilized Mughal rule, and pursued a policy of religious tolerance and cultural synthesis between Islamic, Hindu, and other traditions.

His creation of a syncretic religious philosophy, Din-i-Ilahi, and his court’s patronage of art, architecture, and literature made his reign a cultural golden age. The Taj Mahal was built by his grandson.
