Some naming sources connect Kayson loosely to the name Kay, which in Arthurian tradition belongs to Sir Kay, the foster brother of King Arthur in Geoffrey of Monmouth’s Historia Regum Britanniae (around 1136) and in Chrétien de Troyes’s 12th-century

French romances.

That Arthurian name is itself of uncertain origin, possibly from the Latin Caius. A separate thread connects the sound to the Hebrew name Keziah, though the phonetic similarity is coincidental.
